We are very proud to present this year’s festival guests. Meet them at the screenings, seminars and in Södra Bar, together with Andrea Reuter at 17.00 – 18.00, Thursday – Sunday.
Frederick Wiseman, the legendary American documentary filmmaker visits Tempo with his latest film LA DANSE – THE PARIS OPERA BALLET, which will receive its Swedish premiere! The film is a tribute to dance and the dedication of dancers exhibit. In many of his films, Wiseman has used an institution as a starting point, as “institutions have certain rules, which gives you the opportunity to explore how a small society operates”, he explains. As an example of this, in LA DANSE – THE PARIS OPERA BALLET, we follow everyday life at the French Ballet School, with its daily routines of training, rehearsal and performance. Wiseman has made almost 40 films and will soon be 80 years old. He maintains that his filmmaking is still driven by the same motivations as it was in the 1960s. We are delighted to welcome him to Tempo Documentary Festival! Meet him at Södra Bar with Andrea Reuter, Thursday 11 March, 17.00 – 18.00 and also at the screening of LA DANSE – THE PARIS OPERA BALLET.
